About My Photography
I use photography to tell stories and create images I enjoy. With people, I'm interested in their actions, emotions, and reactions. I'm especially interested in the shapes and colors of things. I want and expect viewers of my images to ask questions beyond the simple representation of the images, hoping that viewers will understand my stories or to use their imaginations to develop their own stories from my images. Viewers should ask questions about the stories in the images. These stories can be simple—like “why is that couple smiling?”—or more complex. My most successful images and series are those where viewers look into and beyond the simple representation to the meanings of the images, where viewers question and imagine what my images and series are about. Those images enrich viewers' experiences with my images. My photography has earned awards in local camera/photography clubs, Mid-Atlantic Photo Visions, ArtSpace Herndon, and KelbyOne. My images have been published in George Mason University’s Volition art magazine and the Sports Car Club of America's web site. --- Craig P. Beyers
